Crunchyroll is about to make your travels to the theater a monthly event. The streaming giant announced during the San Diego Comic-Con which is launching a new program called Crunchyroll Anime Nights, a theatrical celebration at national level of souls that starts in October.
Unlike the limited projections that we have been used to in past years, Crunchyroll is going great. Anime films have already made enormous waves in cinemas recently thanks to successes such as Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Demon Slayer: Mugen TrainAnd more, but now Crunchyroll is ensuring that there is something that fans can enjoy every single month on the big screen.
Crunchyroll describes the nights of souls as a way to “honor the past, raise the present and celebrate the future of the anime”.
These events will take place on the third Monday of each month in the United States and more than 225 theaters at national level will be part of the program, including main chains such as Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, AMC theaters, Regal, Cinema, Harkins theaters and reference cinema.
The first event occurs on 20 October 2025, with its debut in the United States of Dragon Maid by Miss Kobayashi: a solitary dragon wants to be loved. This is only the beginning. November and December are already exciting formations in the shop:
-
November 17, 2025 – Overlord – A celebration of the tenth anniversary of the anime
-
December 15, 2025 – Crunchyroll Anime Nights: Secret Sheak Peek! (Yes, a surprise event that makes fun of the new anime before streaming!)
Crunchyroll is trying to make this important part of the experience of fans of souls, which could even expand in 2026 with larger previews and special projections.
Theatrical souls have exploded in popularity in recent years. What was limited to a handful of special projections became a fixed appointment in US theaters.
Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment are taking this momentum and transforming it into something consistent with a monthly event that offers fans a reason to collect and celebrate their favorite series on the big screen.
And Crunchyroll wants this that you look more than a simple cinematographic evening. As Mitchel Berger, executive vice -president of the Crunchyroll trade explains:
“Anime Nights offers more than one projection: it is a shared experience that honors the art form, invites fans in the world of creators and gives life to souls in a theatrical environment. Crunchyroll is engaged in theatrical experience, and there is something powerful in looking beloved souls surrounded by friends and theater companions.
So, starting from this autumn, souls are conquering the theaters in style. With Crunchyroll Anime Nights, fans will have a constant opportunity to enjoy their favorite programs and films on the big screen, share the experience with the community and even make up for imminent outings.
