Actor Giancarlo Espositobest known for his roles in breaking Bad AND The Mandalorian he has said on a couple of occasions that he would like to take on the role of Professor Xavier aka Professor X in the upcoming X-Men reboot that Marvel is ready to make in the next phases of the MCU. Fans as a whole are excited about the idea of seeing Esposito in the role, but the actor feels he might want to make a change to the iconic character.
In a recent interview with Fade To Black (via CBM), Esposito explained:
“I took a quick look at my brain and immediately thought, ‘Hmm, [It would] it would be great to play Professor X in some other incarnation than just the wheelchair. Right? Because the physical idea of being in a wheelchair every day doesn’t appeal to me. I just don’t feel that old and I don’t like sitting that much. But certainly, perhaps, we could understand something. Professor X wasn’t always in a wheelchair, but that’s part of his character development. So I think about it a little bit, but I don’t think about it completely because he should come to me.”
I think the actors did a lot worse at playing the characters than sitting for long periods of time. He’s an integral part of Professor X. But maybe they could twist the story in a way that suits the actor. What do you think? I think he would be great in the role.
