A trailer for the apocalyptic thriller has been released Breathehero Jennifer Hudson, Milla Jovovich, Quvenzhane Wallis, Raúl Castillo, Common AND Sam Worthington. The film is directed by Stefon Bristol (See you yesterday) with a screenplay written by Douglas Simon (Brotherhood, Demonic).
The film’s synopsis reads:
“Breathe is a breathtaking thriller set in the future. After the Earth becomes uninhabitable due to a lack of oxygen, a mother Maya (Hudson) and her daughter Zora (Wallis) are forced to live underground, with short trips to the surface made possible only by a coveted oxygen suit at the cutting edge made by Maya’s husband, Darius, who she assumes is dead. When a mysterious couple arrives claiming to know Darius and his fate, Maya tentatively agrees to let them into their bunker, but these visitors are not the ones they claim to follow in the mother and daughter’s fight for survival.
It seems like your typical post-apocalyptic thriller with a parent defending their child from the people chasing them. It might be fine, as the cast is decent and it seems like it had a pretty good budget. We’ll just have to watch and see if the story holds up. Breathe will be released in theaters, digital and on demand on April 26, 2024. Watch the trailer below:
