Before Disney bought 20th Century Fox and Deadpool returned to Marvel Studios, there was a third Dead Pool film already in development. That version of the film would have been very different than the one we’re all excited to see Deadpool and Wolverine.
We knew it Ryan Reynolds he wanted to make a road movie involving Deadpool and Wolverine, and he wanted it Hugh Jackman back in the role. But until now we didn’t know what exactly the story would entail. Now, thanks to Karan Soniwho reprises his role as Dopinder in Deadpool and Wolverinewe have some interesting new details for the original plan.
During an interview with Screen Rant at SXSW for his new film A good Indian boythe actor revealed that he actually shared some plot details with the writer Roshan Sethi when they first met. He said:
“They don’t tell me anything, which is good. Honestly, to bring it back to Roshan [Sethi], on our first date I recapped the plot of Deadpool 3, which I shouldn’t have done. This was the Fox version, which didn’t get made because the studio was sold or whatever. But we just met, and I was desperate to impress him, and I just blurted it out. I had told him that Hugh Jackman would be in the film – this had happened years before. All to say, I didn’t get the script this time, thank God! They didn’t even tell me the trailer was coming out. I got to watch it when it came out and I’m excited to be a small part of it.”
Soni was then asked if he could share some of these details and he revealed it Deadpool 3 it would have been a Christmas movie, saying:
“Yeah, I think it’s been online for a while, so I can. It was originally supposed to be a road trip movie where Deadpool tries to save Christmas, so we all go to the North Pole.”
This is the first time we’ve heard the original Deadpool 3 the idea would have been a Christmas road movie at the North Pole and it would have been really fun! The PG-13 was reworked as a Christmas-themed version of Deadpool 2 titled Once upon a time there was Deadpool. Even though it still would have been a great movie, I’m excited for what’s to come!
In Deadpool and Wolverine, “After dealing with some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis. Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, his family, and the entire world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas back into retirement. He recruits a reluctant and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but, ultimately, their legacy.
It is also explained: “That damn irresponsible hero Deadpool will change the history of the MCU with Wolverine!?”
The film is also the protagonist Emma Corrin as the evil Cassandra Nova, Morena Baccarin AND Stefan Kapicic like Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen as TVA agent, Karan Soni as Dopinder and Leslie Uggam in the role of blind Al. They are united by Brianna HildebrandAND Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend, Yukio. Rob Delaney he will return as Peter and Jennifer Garner she will return as Elektra in the film.
Deadpool and Wolverine hits theaters July 26th!
