The neo-noir thriller will begin filming in Los Angeles this month Lips like sugarwhich will feature Oscar nominees Woody Harrelson AND Owen Wilson. Juliet Lewis (Yellow jackets), Sasha Calle (The flash), Kathryn Newton (Little big lies) AND Erin Moriarty (The boys) joined the cast of the film set during the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Harrelson and Wilson will play detectives John Carr and Phil Harris, a pair of homicide cops who work to solve a possible serial killer case while police and city authorities demand that all murders in Los Angeles be labeled as missing persons until when the Olympic torch is not extinguished and the international media has left the city. The detectives’ paths cross with Tracy Anderson and Andi Campos (Newton and Calle), a pair of teenage girls who have formed a fast and intense friendship, transplanted to Montana. Tracy recently arrived in town with her mother (Lewis) and in love with all things. Hollywood. When Tracy goes missing, Carr, Harris and Andi race with the clock to find her.
Music video director Brantley Gutierrez (Paul McCartney: Who cares) is at the helm. The screenplay is written by Antonio Tambakis (Warrior). Oscar nominee Win Butler of Arcade Fire fame is set to compose the soundtrack.
