The first trailer for the new horror thriller is out Arcadianthat sees Nicolas Cage fighting terrifying creatures that come out at night.
In Arcadian“After a catastrophic event depopulates the world, a father and his two sons must survive their dystopian environment while being threatened by mysterious creatures that emerge at night.”
The story is set in the near future, where “normal life on Earth has been decimated. Paolo and his two sons, Tommaso and Giuseppe, live a half life: tranquility during the day and torment at night. Every night, after sunset, they face the relentless attacks of a mysterious and violent evil. One day, when Thomas doesn’t return home before sunset, Paul must leave the safety of their fortified farmhouse to find him. A nightmarish battle ensues that forces the family to enact a desperate plan to survive.
Ben Brewer (Confidence) directed the film and is also the protagonist Jaeden Martell (IT), Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in space) AND Sadie in general (Destiny: the Winx saga). The film has A quiet place kind of a vibe, but it still feels like a wild creature feature!
Mark Ward of RLJE praised the film, saying, “Michael Nilon’s screenplay deftly balances between the compelling emotions of a creature and the hopeful heart at the center of Paul’s family, played to perfection by Cage, Martel and Jenkins.”
Arcadian will be released on April 12th.
