Since Andrea Garfield AND Tobey Maguire they appeared as their versions of Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans hoped that one day we would see them again and that their stories would continue. There have been rumors about their possible return, but nothing has been made official.
Garfield is said to have been approached by Marvel to join the project Avengers: Secret Wars. It’s also been reported that Sony wants Garfield and Maguire back Spider-Man 4.
The latest report comes from Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez, which says a continuation of Garfield’s Peter Parker story is definitely coming, but there’s one problem… it’s not coming as a standalone film. He explained: “I don’t really want to get anyone’s hopes up with this, because the chances of him getting a full-blown movie are very slim. A continuation of his story is 100% on the way, but it won’t guarantee another movie to this point.” point in time.”
When asked if the same goes for Maguire, he responded with a GIF saying: “It’s a bit different.” He added more details, so it’s all up in the air, all I know is that there has to be some kind of dialogue going on to get these actors to adapt to Spider-Man again and get back into action.
Garfield previously spoke about the potential of continuing his story as Spider-Man in another film, saying there’s endless potential: “The story never ends, whether we do it or not. There’s a story that happens in a universe somewhere. There’s endless potential with this character and all the different iterations. So, yeah, he’s definitely out there doing something.”
I’m curious to see what comes of this, but I hope we see Garfield and Maguire back in the MCU one day.
