Lionsgate is looking to expand Dusk franchise and have announced that they are developing an animated series adaptation of Stephanie Mayerthe vampire book series.
The project was revealed by Michael Burns, vice president of Lionsgate, during a question and answer session at the Morgan Stanley press conference. He said, “We’ll go out with the Dusk series, an animated series, I think there will be a lot of interest.”
It was previously reported that a series was in development and at the time we thought it would be a live-action project. But that’s not the direction they’re going.
I honestly couldn’t care less about the direction this franchise goes. For me, my feeling is that the less Twilight, the better. But I’m sure fans have all kinds of opinions about the franchise’s future plans.
There are four novels in the series included Dusk, New moon, Eclipse AND breaking Dawn. Meyer also published the book Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined, which swapped the genders of the two main characters, Bella and Edward. Meyer later released Midnight Sun, which told the story of the first book from Edward’s point of view rather than Bella’s. The film franchise consisted of five films that drove fans crazy!
In more exciting news, Burns also revealed that they are expanding the John Wick franchise with a new series, saying, “I think we’ll take one of our big action franchises as the lead Keanu ReevesI think it will be a television series.
There is no other information shared about John Wick series, but director of the franchise Chad Stahelski He’s part of the franchise’s creative team and will be involved in all John Wick projects that come to fruition, and has previously teased which spin-offs he’d like to explore.
