Rednecks vs aliens is a new film project announced by the director Michele Kallio (Dinner with Leatherface), who collaborated with an experienced director James Wilder Hancock to make the film. Together they created a genre-focused banner called Modern Classic Pictures.
The genre-blending film follows three adventure-seeking hillbilly friends who “make enemies with the wrong alien race, inadvertently sparking a war between worlds.” This looks like a fun project!
It is explained that they will “combine a love of old school B-movies with hard-won technical expertise. They plan to use their mutual dedication to push creative boundaries and deliver engaging narratives to make sci-fi-horror comedy stand out.”
The film’s crew also includes an acclaimed cinematographer Eric Adkins (Marcel the shell with shoes) and seasoned producer and effects legend Andrea Clemente (A Nightmare on Elm Street) will help produce an innovative narrative that combines practical effects and digital magic.
