Director of Blumhouse Pictures Jason Blum is preparing to release his next horror film Fictional, which follows a young girl terrorized by a sinister teddy bear monster. Then eventually, Blum would like to produce a crossover film where the worlds of Fictional AND M3GAN collide.
During a recent press event for Imaginary, Blum was asked about Blumhouse’s horror universe and where we might see the franchises meet in crossover events, and he responded:
“Well, I’d like to see Chauncey and M3GAN fight. Maybe one day we will.”
It’s nothing new for horror franchises to cross paths with each other and have main characters face off against each other. This is something that Universal Pictures introduced years ago with their Universal Monsters. It’s always fun to see these types of crossovers, especially when the films are done well.
Blumhouse has already discussed crossovers Capricious AND Happy Death Day as well as Insidious AND Left.
In Fictional“When Jessica (DeWanda wise) returns to her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops a disturbing attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey that he finds in the basement. Alice begins playing games with Chauncey which start out playful and become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behavior becomes increasingly troubling, Jessica intervenes only to realize that Chauncey is much more than the teddy bear she thought he was.
What do you think about the possibility of Blumhouse doing crossovers of its franchises in the future?
