THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU working title is relevant to the broader STAR WARS universe

The working title for Jon Favreau’S The Mandalorian and Grogu has been revealed and is relevant to the wider Star Wars universe, the question is: does it suggest where the story might take us?

The Mandalorian and Grogu filming will begin in Los Angeles later this year and the working title is said to be “Thunder Alley.” Now, this could simply be a cool-sounding name from the franchise that they wanted to use for the production, but there’s always the possibility that it could have some meaning regarding the story.

Thunder Alley initially appeared in the book Before the stormwhich is an Expanded Universe novel of which it was the first installment The Black Fleet Crisis Trilogy. The description of Thunder Alley reads:

Thunder Alley was a region of space along the borders of the New Republic that several fleets rotated to patrol. In 16 ABY, shortly before the Black Fleet crisis, the Second Fleet patrolled Thunder Alley, the longest of the fleets without home service and shipyard services. Admiral Gial Ackbar convinced Chief of State Leia Organa Solo to withdraw the Second Fleet and replace it with the First Fleet, which served as Coruscant’s defense force at the same time.

Elements of this could easily be implemented into the story of The Mandalorian and Grogu. It could also lead to a clash between The Mandalorian and Grand Admiral Thrawn as he resurrects the Empire. Or nothing will happen! We’ll just have to wait and see.

All we really know about the film is that the story will pick up later The Mandalorian Season 3. The Mandalorian and Grogu it could also be the start of a trilogy that will also include Dave Filoniis the untitled film that will bring together the entire New Republic saga.

Favreau previously shared a statement with the film’s announcement, saying, “I’ve loved telling stories set in the rich world George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”

Do you think Thunder Alley will have any role in the film?
