One of the most popular manga of all time, Narutois getting a film adaptation and the film will be written and directed by Destin Daniel Crettonwho co-wrote and directed the Marvel Studios film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This must be one of the reasons why you abandoned directing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Naruto it’s set up at Lionsgate and you can bet they want to turn this thing into a huge franchise. Cretton will produce the film together Jeyun Munford, Avi Arad, Ari Arad AND Emmy Yu by Arad Productions (Borderlands), AND Jeremy Latcham (Dungeons & Dragons).
Naruto was created by Masashi Kishimoto, is a gripping story set in a world where ninjas possess extraordinary powers. At the center is Naruto Uzumaki, a lively and determined young ninja ostracized by his village due to the presence of a malevolent fox spirit within him. Determined to prove himself and realize his dream of becoming the strongest ninja, Naruto embarks on a journey of self-discovery, friendship, and redemption. Along the way, he forms bonds with other ninja like Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, facing formidable adversaries, uncovering dark secrets, and ultimately trying to bring peace to the ninja world.
This is a story full of action-packed battles and heartwarming moments. It’s a timeless epic, and if done right, this live-action film could be incredible! Let’s hope Cretton can make it!
Kishimoto gave Cretton his blessing and shared the following statement: “When I heard about Destin’s attachment, it was right after I saw a hit action movie of his, and I thought he would be the perfect director for Naruto. After enjoying his other films and realizing that his strength is creating solid dramas about people, I became convinced that there was no other director for Naturo. Upon meeting Destin, I also discovered that he was an open-minded director who was willing to welcome my input and I felt strongly that we would be able to collaborate together in the production process.
So that’s it! We might actually end up getting a real Naruto movie!
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group President Adam Fogelson said: “This classic manga is beloved by millions of fans around the world and Destin has provided a vision for the film that we believe will excite the enormous fan base as well as those who They are new to the world.” It. Avi and I have already had the pleasure of working together and I know that as we collaborate with Destin and the Naruto team, we are in extraordinary hands.
