Eli Roth’s BORDERLANDS Movie Will Launch a ‘Borderlands Cinematic Universe’

According to the founder and CEO of Gearbox Randy Pitchforddirector Eli Roth’S Borderlands the film is the first entry in the “Borderlands Cinematic Universe.” Yes, they are planning big things with this movie franchise!

During an interview with IGN, Pitchford said, “One of the cool things about the movie is that we’ve created a cinematic universe that exists side by side with the video game universe. And of course, the characters are there and authentic in theme. ” and even some plots. But they are independent plots.”

Pitchford went on to explain, “So it’s not Borderlands 1. This is not Borderlands 2. THE Borderlands the film is the first of Borderlands Cinematic universe. And you’ll see some characters from some of the different parts of what you might know from video games. But it also gives us the opportunity to go deeper and expand a little bit.”

This is something I can totally get behind! There is so much you can explore in Borderlands universe, so if this movie ends up being really great and fun, and audiences show up to watch it in theaters, we could see a lot more of these movies made.

On the other hand, if the film underperforms, then this plan to build a Borderlands The cinematic universe isn’t going anywhere. I hope things work out, though! This franchise could be amazing!
