MGM has released a new director’s trailer Luca GuadagninoIt’s the romantic drama Challengers, set in the world of tennis. Movie stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy forced into coaching after suffering an injury.
Tashi is described as “a force of nature who makes no apologies for her play on and off the court.” In the film, she is “married to a champion who is on a losing streak (Mike Faist – History of the West Side), Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when she faces Patrick (Josh O’Connor – The crown) – his former best friend and Tashi’s ex-boyfriend. As their past and present collide and tensions run high, Tashi must wonder how much winning will cost him.
This trailer focuses on the love triangle that took place between the three main characters. Sounds like a good movie, I just don’t buy this Tashi character chasing a couple of sillier looking guys!
Challengers will be released on April 25, 2024.
