Gerardo Butler (The angel has fallen) AND Morena Baccarin (Dead Pool) will reprise their roles for the sequel to the 2020 action film Greenland. The film is titled Greenland: migration and director Ric Roman Waugh (The angel has fallen) will also return to helm the film.
In the sequel, “the Garrity family must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker after Comet ‘Clarke’ decimates the earth, and the family embarks on a harrowing journey across the wastelands of Europe to find a new home.”
Producer Sébastien Raybaud shared in a statement: “We are thrilled to have Gerard, Morena and Ric back on board for Greenland: Migration to show audiences what happened alongside the Garrity family. To return to work with the teams at G-BASE, Thunder Road, CineMachine and STX, we know the next chapter will be just as captivating as the first.”
Sam Brown, President of Production at STX Entertainment added: “The success of Greenland showed in a narratively and visually compelling way what one man is willing to do to protect and provide for his family against the most catastrophic odds. We couldn’t be more excited to continue Garrity’s heartbreaking story with Gerry, Morena, Ric and all of our wonderful producers and partners around the world.”
G-BASE Alan Siegel said: “Working together again with our friends at ThunderRoad, Anton, Cinemachine and STX is a fantastic experience. Gerry and I were blown away by how we all came together to produce an amazing first film and are even more excited about our next adventure with the gang.
The film was written by Chris Sparling AND Mitchell Lafortune and will begin production in the UK in April.
