Reacher star Alan Ritchson was a fan-favorite choice for an actor to play the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne James Gunn AND Pietro Safranof the DC cinematic universe. Now the actor says he would love the opportunity to play the iconic hero. During a recent interview on Post Cred Podcast, he said:
“The fact that people are interested in me playing Batman is a real honor and privilege. He’s one of the first characters I fell in love with as a child: I still remember the big, long gun coming out of Joker’s pants as he gets close to taking down the Batplane.
“Those iconic moments really resonated with me as a kid. Even if there was a conversation or a rumor about this role, for me… all I can do is laugh. I just think it’s wild where we are. I would like. I would absolutely love it [play him].”
I like Ritchson! He is fantastic as Jack Reacher and I would really love to see him as Batman! The guy doesn’t need a padded suit, that’s for sure.
Gunn will present his version of Batman Batman: The Brave and the Bold. from which it is directed The flash director Andy Muschietti. The project is inspired by Grant Morrisonis the popular Batman comic series and will focus on Bruce Wayne’s relationship with his biological son, Damian Wayne.
Speaking previously about this project, Gunn said: “So this is the introduction of Batman DCU, Bruce Wayne, and also the introduction of our favorite Robin, Damian Wayne, who is a little son of a bitch, murderous assassin, who he unintentionally picks up, who is the real son of Batman that he didn’t know existed for the first 8-10 years of his life, and brings him into his life and that’s a story. It’s a very strange kind of father-son story between the two of them. And it’s based on Grant Morrison’s run on Batman. There are a couple of comics writers who have been exceptionally influential on our work and Grant Morrison and Tom King are probably the main two.”
