Donnie Yen (John Wick: Chapter 4, Ip Man) stars in a new Chinese action-survival thriller titled Polar rescue, and a trailer promoting its US release has been released. The film, which is also titled Come Back Home, centers on a boy who gets lost in the middle of a harsh winter snowstorm and his father goes on a journey to save him. As a fan of Yen, this is a film I will definitely check out.
The synopsis reads: “A young boy, Lele, disappears in the Changbai Mountains during a violent snowstorm after an argument with his father. Approaching the vital 48 hour mark and with no sign of Lele, his father (Yen) decides to brave an imminent avalanche to save his son. He celebrates action star Donnie Yen while he reminds us why he’s not only one of our best fighters, but also one of our best actors.
The film was written and directed by Lo Chi Leung and Well Go USA will release the Polar Rescue film directly to VOD/Blu-ray on March 26, 2024.
