EVIL DEAD’s new director shares his ‘evil’ vision for a ‘hurtful film’

Another evil Dead the film is in development with the producer Sam Raimi and French director Sébastien Vanicek (Haunted). We don’t know anything about the story, but the director recently shared his vision for the film and is trying to make something brutal. He explained in an interview with Bloody-Disgusting:

“I told the studio that I wanted to make a bad film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested. I’ll put in all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue making films behind it, I’ll move on to something other than horror!”

Well, hell… it looks like I’m about to do a evil Dead film that will shock the public. The last one that was made was pretty damn crazy. It seems like he’s trying to up the ante with the horror aspect, but I just hope he and his creative team end up telling a fun story set in this nightmarish world.

He also says that Sam Raimi is giving him “100% creative freedom” to play in the Evil Dead sandbox, and that he’s trying to incorporate a “French touch.”

Vaniček goes on to point out that, “If all goes well, we could start filming in late 2024-early 2025, for a release I hope for Halloween 2025.”

This is just one of many evil Dead films that will be made like Raimi and Bruce Campbell intention to produce a new one evil Dead films every two or three years.
