Richard Donneris the 1978 film Superman: The Movie is easily one of the best superhero movies ever made. I saw the film again recently after the screening of the documentary, Super/Man: A History of Christopher Reeveand damn… I was reminded once again how insanely awesome that movie is. Christopher Reeve he is the perfect Superman.
If you’re a fan of the movie too, I have something here for you to watch that you’ll appreciate. Below you will find several original vintage storyboards for the film created by legendary artist Ivor Beddoes.
18 of these storyboards will be on display at an event called the California International Antiquarian Book Fair, which will take place February 9-11 at Pier 27 in San Francisco. Peter Harrington Rare Books houses the collection, which originated from the private collection of author George Locke.
The drawings in the images focus on the film’s opening scenes on Krypton and provide a really cool and interesting look at the film’s production. They’re also on sale if you have $31,600 to spend!
In addition to Superman storyboards, the event’s display also includes rare editions of The Lord of the Rings, The little PrinceAND Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?.
