It seems The Eternals could appear in an episode of the third season of the Marvel animated series What if…? and if it were true, it would be a crazy episode!
The news comes from entertainment scooper @CanWeGetToastwho says that What if…? season three will include an episode focusing on the characters of The Eternals. The plot is said to be: “What if… the Eternals never stopped the emergence?”
In the Marvel Universe, an Emergency is a cosmic event that signifies the birth of a Celestial, simultaneously destroying the planet on which it was created. In the film, we learned that an Emergence was planned on Earth where the Celestial Tiamut the Communicator would be born, although his birth and subsequent destruction of Earth were prevented by the Eternals.
If the Eternals never stopped the Emergency, Earth and the MCU would be completely destroyed. It would be a very interesting story to play with. The aftermath and consequences of this event would be insane! I would really like to see this explored, so hopefully this news ends up being true.
