Actress, comedian and musician Kate Micucci (The Big Bang Theory, Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities) is developing a new animated series titled Toy. It is based on the comic created by Brett Murphy AND Wilson Gandolfo. In addition to producing, Micucci will star and create the music for the cartoon, having already recorded a first passage of the theme song.
Tobi Wilsonwho serves as a senior writer for the long-running hit Cartoon Network The fantastic world of chewing gumhe is present as showrunner and co-producer.
Published in March 2023, Toy follows the adventures of a floppy-eared inventor of the same name, who also happens to be, you guessed it, a toy! He has two friends (at least two friends!), an ever-hungry crocodile and a clever human girl, who help him defend the small town of Rockledge from the machinations of the evil kitty CEO, Lily Buttercup. Jealous of Toy’s inventive skills, Lily will do anything to show him off, even building a massive mechanical suit so he can personally destroy her hometown!
