Three times Oscar nominee Edward Norton (Fight club, Glass Onion) has signed on to take on musician Pete Seeger’s directorial role James Mangoldthe film, A complete strangerabout Bob Dylan. Benedict Cumberbatch was slated for the role of Seeger, but had to abandon the project due to scheduling conflicts.
Jay Cocks (New York gangs) wrote the screenplay, while Mangold handled revisions. The cast is also present Timothée Chalamet like Dylan, and Elle Fanning is in the cast to play Sylvie Russo, Dylan’s early ’60s love interest, a college student and artist.
The film begins production this summer in New York and centers on a young Dylan (Chalamet) who shocks the music world in 1965 when he begins performing on an electric guitar for the first time.
