Neon has released the first trailer for Sydney Sweeneythe next religious horror film Immaculate. The film follows a nun named Cecilia, “a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role in an illustrious Italian convent.”
But, it is explained, her “warm welcome to the perfect Italian countryside is soon cut short when it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home hides some dark and terrifying secrets.” Yes, her experience turns into a complete nightmare for her.
It feels like a generic horror movie. Judging by the trailer, there’s nothing really unique or different about it. I guess the main attraction is that it’s something for Sydney Sweeney fans to watch.
Immaculate was directed by Michael Mohan (The voyeurs) from a screenplay by Andrew Lobel. Sweeney stars in the next film Simona Tabasco (The White Lotus), Álvaro Morte (Theft of money), Benedetta Porcaroli (Child), AND Dora Romano (The hand of God).
Sweeney developed the project with David Bernad and will be released on March 22, 2024.
