Teaser trailer for the Peacock series by Sam Neill and Annette Bening APPLES NEVER FALL

Peacock has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming limited drama series Apples never fallwhich has a great cast that includes Sam Neill, Annette Bening, Jake LacyAND Alison Brie. The series comes from writer, showrunner and executive producer Melanie Marnich (The OA, The Deal) and executive producer David Heymann (Wonka, Barbie).

The series is based on the novel by Liane Moriarty (Little big lies, The ruin), and in the story, “Former tennis coaches Stan and Joy have sold their successful tennis academy and are ready to begin what should be the golden years of their lives. While they look forward to spending time with their four adult children, everything changes when a wounded young woman knocks on Joy and Stan’s door, bringing with her the excitement they’ve been missing.”

Marnich previously spoke about the series in a statement, saying she had “never been able to resist” a story she described as an “immersive vacation in life.” She continued by saying:

“The gripping, twisting mystery is anchored by the Delaney family, whose ingenuity, wounds, desire and complexity made me want to translate this amazing book to television and made me feel like the Delaneys had something to say to all of us.Through them, this story delves into the complexities of love, long-term marriage, and the struggle to define oneself within and beyond family.

It was exciting to write about the truly adult issues the Delaneys grapple with, like the sometimes brutal sacrifices parents make to keep marriage and family together. We also take the gloves off when we capture what it takes to be a working mother and wife as we follow Joy into the mystery at the heart of this show.

“Ultimately, Apples Never Fall is a very honest show about what it means to be part of a very complicated family. Which is every family, right? As we’ve always said in the writers’ room… Something really bad could have happened.” it happened at Delaney’s… but you still want to come by for a gin and tonic.”

The series consists of seven episodes and will be released in full on Peacock on March 14, 2024.
