The nominations for the 96th Oscars have been announced Christopher Nolan’S Oppenheimer leads the pack with 13 nominations. This is followed by Searchlight Poor things with 11 nominations, Apple Original Films’ The assassins of the Flower Moon with 10 nominations and Warner Bros. Barbie got eight nominations. All of these films are nominated for Best Picture.
It doesn’t surprise me that these are the films that have gotten the most nominations. But I was very surprised by it Barbie has a couple of major snubs. Greta Gerwig did not get a nomination for best director and Margot Robbie she didn’t get a Best Actress nomination, which was surprising because Ryan Gosling he was nominated for best supporting actor, which is ridiculous; AND America Ferrera she earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The best performance in that film, though, came from Robbie, so it’s confusing.
Of all the nominations for best picture, I personally want to see The residues win. This was my favorite movie on the list. Oppenheimer he’ll probably end up winning, though. But they’ll go up against other really good movies, so we’ll have to wait and see!
Godzilla minus one it also got an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects, making it the first Godzilla movie ever nominated for an Oscar, which is awesome! Then there is an animated short film that was named titled Ninety-five senseswhich a friend of mine worked on, so it was great to see it get nominated.
Anyway, check out the full list of nominations below and let us know what you think! Which film would you like to see win Best Picture? What other nominations would you like to see win?
