Larry David revealed his true identity in a fun new promo for the twelfth and final season of his hit TV series Curb your enthusiasm. Last month it was announced that the series would end with this season. Fans had seen the network and creators go back and forth on whether or not to produce another season multiple times over the years, but David kept coming up with new ideas. THE Seinfeld the creator had a knack for taking mundane plots and making them more awkward than anyone could have ever imagined. It was a real gift.
In the new promo, which will be broadcast online before airing during this week’s Emmys, where the HBO show is not competing for best comedy series, David finally takes off his mask. “My work here is done,” David says. “By the way, who is the idiot who drew that face?”
Curb stars David as an exaggerated version of himself living in Los Angeles (and for one great season, New York). It stars Jeff Garlin as his manager and best friend; Susie Essman as Jeff’s expletive-laden wife; Cheryl Hines as his ex-wife; J.B. Smoove as his roommate who never left after his black family (also featuring Vivica A. Fox) appeared in season six after Hurricane Katrina; Richard Lewis as his older friend; Ted Danson as himself, now dating David’s ex-wife Cheryl; Vince Vaughn, who plays Freddy Funkhouser, the half-brother of Marty Funkhouser, played by the late, great Bob Einstein; and Tracey Ullman, who plays city councilor Irma Kostroski.
Clock Curb your enthusiasm when it returns to HBO and MAX on February 4, 2024. The ten-episode final season will run until April 7. Discover the new promotion below:
