The film adaptation of Channing Tatum’s THE MAXX is reportedly moving forward at Paramount Pictures

It was already announced in 2019 Channing Tatum and producer Roy Lee (EN: Chapter 2, Doctor Sleep) would develop a live-action film adaptation of Sam Keith’s comic The Maxx. There hasn’t been any update on that project since it was announced, so I assumed it was dead. But, according to Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman, The Maxx is actually moving forward at Paramount Pictures with Tatum still attached to take on the lead role.

This has also been reported Crystal Moselle (The wolf pack, state cuisine) is now attached to write and direct the film. The Maxx was a really cool 90s comic series and I loved reading it when I was little. Also, remember that 1995 MTV animated series!? That was really cool too. This was such a crazy story and character!

Originally published by Image Comics in 1993, The Maxx is known for its interesting blend of superhero elements and psychological drama. The story follows Maxx, a homeless man who believes he is a powerful superhero in an alternate reality known as the “Outback”. In the real world, Maxx is a drifter cared for by a social worker named Julie Winters. The series explores the complex interplay between Maxx’s delusions and his real-life struggles, as well as the traumas and psychological issues faced by both Maxx and Julie.

I’m really curious to see how The Maxx will be brought to life as a feature film. Especially with the crazy looking character images.
