Studio Canal has unveiled the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic Back to black. I think the trailer makes for a decent first impression, and it stars Marisa Abela like the famous singer-songwriter.
The film was directed by Sam Taylor Johnson (Nowhere Boy, Fifty Hades of Grey), and will explore the life, life and career of Winehouse and her explosive rise to fame with songs like “Rehab” and “Back to Black.” Winehouse tragically died in 2011 at the age of 27.

An unflinching look at the modern celebrity machine and a powerful tribute to a once-in-a-lifetime talent.
The cast of the film also includes Jack O’Connell, Eddie Marsan, Juliet Cowan, Ansu Kabia, Bronson WebbAND Lesley Manville. Amy Winehouse’s estate signed a deal for this biopic about her life in 2018.
Studiocanal will debut Back to black in UK cinemas from 12 April 2024, then in US cinemas on 10 May.
