Steven Spielberg and Simon Kinberg produce the film adaptation of LONG LOST for Universal and Amblin

Universal made its first big deal of the year with the purchase of the 50-page thriller tale Long lostby the writer Colin Bannon, who will also write the screenplay. The film will be produced by Steven Spielberg and the Amblin partners, Simone Kinberg AND Audrey Chon for genre images e Scott Glassgold and his Ground Control Entertainment.

Bannon blacklisted scripts seven times and sold them Ultra to Tri-Star Pictures and First climb to Netflix. Bannon’s psychological thriller Resist is in preparation on Netflix with Elisabeth Moss in the role of protagonist and director.

Deadline reports that “In the vein of What’s underneath AND Rosemary’s babyLong Lost tells the story of a recently married woman whose life is turned upside down when her husband’s long-lost wife shockingly returns after she was left for dead, sparking fears that she is hatching a sinister plan to reclaim what she once it was his.

This sounds like a solid premise and the makings of an exciting film. Stay tuned for further updates as the project develops.
