Jacob Elordi will play the role of the monster in Guillermo del Toro’s film FRANKENSTEIN; Additional cast announced

Giacobbe Elordi was cast as The Monster in Guillermo del Torothe film adaptation of Frankenstein. Andrea Garfield he was originally supposed to play The Monster, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts caused by the Hollywood strikes.

It was also announced Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David BradleyAND Christian Convery they joined the film. The rest of the cast includes Oscar Isaacwho will play Victor Frankenstein; My Gothic, who is rumored to play The Bride; and Christoph Waltz.

There’s a lot of buzz around Eldori right now for his recently released film Saltburn. The actor recently spoke about turning down the opportunity to audition for James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy because he was “too dark.” However, I’m sure Saltburn will be a much darker film than Superman: Legacy, and del Toro’s Frankenstein will definitely be darker as well. So I’m not so sure Eldori knows what he’s talking about. Anyway, the teenage heartthrob now plays Frankenstein’s monster.

Del Toro is writing, directing and producing the film and when he first revealed he was finally making the project he said: “I’m making Frankenstein. We’re working on it. We’ll start shooting in February, and it’s a film I’ve wanted to make for 50 years, ever since I saw the first Frankenstein. I had an epiphany, and it’s basically a film that took a lot of growth and a lot of tools that I couldn’t have done 10 years ago. Now I’m brave enough or crazy enough or something, and we’ll deal with it.

The director had previously shared his love for the film, but also explained that he was afraid to make it: “Frankenstein for me is the pinnacle of everything, and part of me wants to do a version, part of me wants to do a version.” more than 25 years they stood back to make it. I dream of being able to make the greatest Frankenstein ever, but if you do it, you’ve done it. Whether it’s great or not, it’s done. You can’t dream about it anymore. This is a director’s tragedy. You can dream about something but once you’ve achieved it, you’ve achieved it. That’s all. You got a 10 or a 6.5 but you were already at the Olympics and were judged.

The producer of the film, J. Miles Dale, also talked about the film and offered some further insight into it. According to him, Del Toro is building his own monster universe. He explains: “At one time, he was supposed to make the monster universe with Universal – Bride of Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man – and he didn’t. We think Shape of Water was kind of a creature version. So now here he is creating his own monster universe.”

Dale went on to say that it will be a “deeply emotional” film, and added: “In the last two films, certainly with Nightmare Alley and then with Pinocchio, we’ve dealt with the whole father-son relationship. And both Guillermo and I have lost the our fathers in recent years. When you have a strong father figure, it’s an important part of our lives. This version of Frankenstein follows that thematic path very much. So, I feel like this is the third film in Guillermo’s father trilogy. It’s emotional and , when you read the script, it’s very emotional and, obviously, very iconic.”

The film is based on Mary Shelley’s novel, which follows Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but selfish scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the destruction of both the creator and his tragic creation.
