Vincent D’Onofrio talks about his return to the role of Wilson Fisk and his connection with ECHO in the Marvel series

Vincenzo D’Onofrio he played the character Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, in several series, starting with the first Reckless series on Netflix in 2015, returning for the Disney+ limited series Hawk eyeand now we enter the Disney+ limited series Echo. She’s sharing what she tried to portray about Fisk and her connection to Maya Lopez aka Echo in the series, telling ScreenRant:

“I think he goes through a lot of trouble trying to get her back, whatever she did to get away from him. And I think it ends up being kind of a father-daughter period of trepidation for them, to put it mildly. And it gets very intense. He becomes emotionally abusive and physically abusive.

When asked how his approach or understanding of the character of Wilson Fisk has changed over the course of playing the character, D’Onofrio explained:

“Well, I’m an actor, so I have to serve the story that’s presented to me. I have to do my best to make the written story work. And so there’s a lot of different directions that, when you write a story, you go from one series to the next. I think as I was making Echo, I realized that there’s a tone to Echo, a mature tone where I believed my characters presented themselves at their best.

I felt like the reason I recognized it was because as we performed it, I realized that whether audiences had ever seen the original Daredevil or not, they would have the same feeling that they had in Daredevil when they arrived for the first time. on the screen. They’re going to feel uncomfortable around him and I think Fisk works better with that kind of tone.
