“Leave The World Behind” lands at No. 1 on the Nielsen streaming charts in its debut week; “Young Sheldon” continues to do a billion minutes

A week after taking over Nielsen’s streaming throne, Young Sheldon is distributed by Leave the world behind.

Sam Esmail’s apocalyptic thriller premiered on December 8 and was incredibly popular, according to Netflix’s own data from last month. From December 4 to 10, the film reached 1.9 billion viewing minutes among US audiences, even though it was only available for three days during the measurement period.

Leave the world behind is well on its way to becoming one of the most popular English-language Netflix films of all time. So expect the film to stay on the Nielsen charts at least through the December measurement periods.

Young Sheldon After three weeks on Netflix, viewership numbers dropped slightly, but 1.6 billion minutes were still watched, which ranks second overall. The comedy series has one Take-like revival since it was the latest Max Library title to make its way to Netflix. However, it is much shorter than USA Network’s legal drama, so its dominance of the streaming charts will likely be over sooner rather than later.

Spoken of Take, the series fought its way back into the top 10 in the standings after falling the week before for the first time in about six months. The series reached 679 million viewing minutes, which is still an incredibly long viewing time, especially considering how long the series has been running. This matched Nielsen’s regular streaming charts NCIS.

The Super Mario Bros. With 1.3 billion minutes, the film was the third of four titles to surpass the billion-minute mark. Squid game: the challenge was the last title to reach this milestone, with just over a billion minutes watched.

The new series from Netflix Deleted also stayed in the top 10 this week, coming in at number 5 with 917 million minutes watched. The list is complete Grey’s Anatomy, Bluey And Candy Avenue.
