Barack Obama shares the list of his favorite films of 2023 and added a message acknowledging the writers’ and actors’ strikes that have brought Hollywood to a standstill.
“Earlier this year, writers and actors went on strike to demand better working conditions and protection. “This has led to significant changes that will transform the industry for the better,” Obama said in a social media post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Obama has directed films produced by Higher Ground, the production company founded by him and his wife Michelle Obama. The former US president has his penchant for films like Quiet, Leave the world behind And American Symphony.
“I’m biased since these films were produced by Higher Ground, but they are actually three of the best films I’ve seen this year,” he wrote.
Obama also shared his “other” favorite films of the year, including Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” which starred Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer.
