Sony Pictures has announced the release dates of two major film projects in collaboration with Apple Original Films. From top-notch actors to gripping plots, these films are sure to lure audiences to theaters.
The first is the untitled Apple Original Films production starring Scarlett Johansson AND Channing Tatum. Formerly known as Artemis project, this film will be released in theaters on July 12, 2024. It is also expected to be shown in large premium formats, ensuring an immersive cinematic experience. Columbia Pictures will distribute this long-awaited project.
Directed by Greg Berlanti, Artemis project boasts an ensemble cast that also includes Jim Rash, Ray Romano, Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg, Cristiano ZuberAND Woody Harrelson.
Set against the backdrop of the 1960s space race, this film is scripted by Rose Gilroy. Johansson is producing under her own banner, These Pictures, with Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn joining her as producers. Sarah Schechter contributes to the production through Berlanti Productions, while Robert Dohrmann takes on the role of executive producer.
The film originally made headlines when Apple secured the Artemis project film package for a whopping $100 million in 2022. At that time, Chris Evans he was destined to act, with Jason Bateman direct. However, due to schedule changes resulting from Bateman’s departure, presumably due to creative differences, the baton was passed to Scarlett Johansson. Filming took place last fall in Atlanta, creating even more anticipation among fans.
The other movie is Wolvesa captivating Apple Original Films project starring George Clooney AND Brad Pitt. Directed by Jon Watts, Wolves will be released on IMAX and premium large format screens on September 20, 2024. This emotional film follows two lonely fixers assigned to the same job and features Amy Ryan in a key role.
Jon Watts, who is also the writer, produces Wolves next to Dianne McGunigle. Clooney, known for his Smokehouse Pictures, is a producer and shares this role Grant Heslov. Brad Pitt, along with Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B Entertainment, complete the producing team.
