EXCLUSIVE: Saudi blockbuster thriller Night courier (Mandoob) continued its record-breaking domestic box office success in its second week of release, surpassing the Aquarius And Dunk with almost three times as many shots as in both photos.

According to Saudi film distributor Front Row Arabia, the joint distribution label of Front Row Filmed Entertainment and local cinema operator muvi Cinemas, Night courier 71,000 tickets sold in its second week of release for a gross of $1.15 million.

Thanks to the 251,000 visitors in 12 days, the total gross is $3.4 million.

The picture clearly beat DC and Warner Bros. tent pole Aquaman and the lost kingdomwhich attracted 27,700 admissions in its first week of release in Saudi Arabia for a gross of $442,000, just like Shah Rukh Khan’s Bollywood film Dunkwith 26,000 viewers for a gross of $357,000.

Warner Bros.’ Wonka fell to fourth place on the Saudi cinema charts with 22,300 admissions for a gross of US$330,000, while the Egyptian comedy Shopping Cart Sha7en took fifth place with 12,600 entrants for a $200,000 gross.

In other news related to the title, Front Row Filmed Entertainment and Kuwait National Cinema Company (KNCC) announced that they are releasing the film on January 11 in the Gulf regions of Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.

It will be an interesting test case for a Saudi film in the Gulf region.

Night courier is the latest production from emerging Riyadh company Telfaz11, which is already enjoying great success this year thanks to the success of its freestyle wrestling comedy Sattarwhere 903,000 tickets were sold at home for a gross profit of $11 million.

The thriller is the first film from Telfaz11 co-founder Ali Kalthami, who first rose to fame with his viral YouTube videos that garnered billions of views before Saudi Arabia’s 35-year cinema ban was lifted in 2017.

In his film debut in Riyadh, Saudi actor Mohamad AlDokhei, a long-time associate of Kalthami who has appeared in many of the viral works, stars in his first non-comedic role as a night courier (Mandoob) who finds himself in the crosshairs of a found illegal. alcohol ring.
