Some rumors have been shared regarding the appearance of Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World. Harrison Ford he’s taking on the role of President “Thunderbolt” Ross in the film, and it’s safe to assume he’ll transform into Red Hulk at some point. Now, a new report claims that the villain will have a comic-accurate power.
Industry fucker @CanWeGetToast is the person behind this news and claims (via CBM) that “Ross’s rage as Red Hulk will see him catch fire, just as the character did on the page during his first few appearances. In fact, the heat he emits will be so intense that it will melt Cap’s Vibranium wings!”
It will be nice to see! I can definitely imagine Harrison Ford getting so seriously upset! It will be interesting to see how Anthony MackieSam Wilson will deal with such a powerful supervillain because, well… unlike Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson doesn’t have superpowers, which will bring an interesting element to the story.
Kevin Feige previously talked about the dynamic between the characters Wilson and Ross, saying, “There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film we will see the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is simply incredible.
Mackie had previously discussed the role of Captain America and how his character is different from Steve Rogers and the rest of the MCU superheroes. He explained:
“Sam is the only character without superpowers. He’s just a normal guy who hangs out with a bunch of weirdos. Being from New Orleans, I’ve been in a few fights. And heart and charisma have never helped me in a fight. usually he just got me beat up, so this could cause a problem when you go to fight someone like Thanos.
“So, I think he has to go on stage with a very different understanding of what it means to be a good guy or to be a bad guy and what are the decisions that make you toe that line the way you want it to.” So I see him more as a more humane Cap than a distinctive judge Cap — [a] Limit of judgment, where this is right and this is wrong. There are decisions that make you choose right or wrong.”
Giulio Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) will direct the film from a screenplay written by Dalan Musson AND Malcolm Spellman, both wrote for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Spellman will produce with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
Captain America: Brave New World even stars Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, AND WWE Superstar Seth Rollins.
The film was also recently given a new release date, set for February 14, 2025.
