First images for the new Netflix anime series ONE PIECE

Netflix is ​​developing a brand new adaptation of the anime series Eiichiro Oda’S The unique piece. The project is described as “a new anime adaptation starting from the iconic East Blue saga” and today we get our first look at the animation style of some characters including Monkey D. Luffy.

As you’ll see, the style is very different from anything we’ve seen before in the franchise. The new series is produced by WIT Studio, known for its work on hit anime such as SPY x FAMILY and Attack on Titan, in collaboration with Shueisha, Fuji Television Network and Toei Animation Co.

The design and style they came up with has a certain softness that sets it apart from the original and ongoing anime series.

The unique pieceThe production committee – made up of representatives from Shueisha, Fuji Television Network and Toei Animation Co. – says The One Piece “will be distinct from the TV anime series”, creating “a fresh yet familiar experience, using cutting-edge visual technology cutting edge to reimagine Luffy’s adventures through the beloved East Blue saga.”

One Piece is set in a fantasy world and follows the fantastic adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew as they explore exotic islands and endless oceans in search of the ultimate “One Piece” treasure to become the next Pirate King. A release date has not yet been set for this project.
