Universal Pictures has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette of Atomic Monster and Blumhouse’s new supernatural horror thriller, Night swim. It features interviews with the film’s cast and crew and offers insight into the kind of disturbing story this film will tell and how, after watching it, you’ll think twice about jumping into a pool. The ambition behind the film was to ruin the pool for everyone. The video also features new footage from the film.
Night swim centers on a family who finds themselves dealing with a nightmarish supernatural presence residing in the backyard pool of their new home.
In the story, “Secretly hoping, against all odds, to play professionally again, Ray convinces Eve that the new house’s sparkling backyard pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy. But a dark secret in the house’s past will unleash a malevolent force that will drag the family into the depths of inescapable terror.
The film is based on the acclaimed 2014 short film by Rod Blackhurst AND Bryce McGuireand becomes the protagonist Wyatt Russell (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) as Ray Waller, “a former Major League baseball player forced into early retirement by a degenerative disease, who moves into a new house with his worried wife Eve (Kerry Condon – The Banshees of Inisherin), her teenage daughter Izzy (Amelie Hoeferle – The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) and young son Elliot (Gavin Warren – Fear the walking dead).”
Night swim is written and directed by Bryce McGuire and is produced by James Wan (See, insidiousAND The evocation franchising) e Jason Blum (Halloween movieThe Black Telephone AND The invisible man).
Night swim will be released in theaters on January 5, 2024.
