Ryan Gosling was the understated comic relief in this year’s blockbuster film, Barbie. She gave a great performance, filled not only with comedy, but also desperation, heartbreak, a full musical dance number, and, of course, horses. Gosling sang the song “I’m Just Ken,” which delighted fans, and he’s making the most of it, with the release of Ken the EPan album featuring three new versions of the song, including a Christmas version just in time for the holidays.
Gosling collaborated with Barbie: the album producer Mark Ronson to create Ken The EPwhich includes “Merry Kristmas Barbie”, an acoustic version titled “In My Feelings Acoustic”, and a dance version called “Purple Disco Machine Cover”.
Compared to the original, the updated Christmas version has a more amped-up drum arrangement and distinct new background vocals: “So, hey, world, look at me, I’m just Ken,” Gosling sings with glee.
