EXCLUSIVE: The second half of the 2024 theatrical release schedule just got a testosterone boost as an epic holiday action comedy from Amazon MGM Studios and Seven Bucks Red has just scheduled an exclusive worldwide theatrical release for November 15, 2024.
Similar to other dedicated Amazon MGM theatrical titles of late Heaven And Salt fire, red will receive a theatrical window before streaming to its eventual home, Prime Video.
By letting go Red On Nov. 15, Amazon MGM Studios wants to take advantage of the traditionally lucrative pre-Thanksgiving holiday run in movie theaters. Competing releases on November 15 include Warner Bros. gangster film robert de niro, Alt knights and Lionsgate and Kingdom Stories The best Christmas parade ever. I heard the film was tested twice and the results were through the roof.
The four quadrants Red is based on an original story by Seven Bucks production president Hiram Garcia.
Johnson describes Red in an Instagram post: “Our film is a big, fun, action-packed and fresh new take on Christmas.” Think JUMANJI, MIRACLE ON 34TH ST, HOBBS & SHAW, with a dash of HARRY POTTER and sprinkled with my favorite Christmas movie of all time, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE…”

Red is produced by Hiram Garcia, Johnson and Dany Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions, Chris Morgan of Chris Morgan Productions and Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar of The Detective Agency. The EPs were by Barry Waldman and Ainsley Davies of Chris Morgan Productions, John Wildermut and The were co-produced by Sky Salem Robinson of Detective Agency.
Warner Bros. Pictures operates internationally under its distribution agreement with Amazon MGM Studios.
Amazon MGM’s winning streak at the box office this year includes Creed IIIthe highest grossing film in the Rocky Franchise’s $275.2 million WW, the two-time Golden Globe-nominated art-house hit Salt burns ($10.5 million; releases on Prime Video December 22) by Ben Affleck Heaven ($90 million WW) and Cord Jefferson’s two-time Golden Globe nominee and TIFF winner American fiction which expands during the holidays.
