Ben Stiller is the protagonist of David Gordon Green’s NUTCRACKER

Ben Stiller is the protagonist of a new film entitled Nutcracker for director David Gordon Green. This is the first film Stiller has starred in in six years, and it’s the first film Green has made that isn’t a horror film since 2018’s Halloween. The last film he made was Exorcist: believer, which was a huge disappointment. However, you have directed episodes of TV shows in between horror films.

Nutcracker is currently in production in Ohio, and the story follows “work-obsessed Mike (Stiller) who must reluctantly travel to rural Ohio to care for his four rambunctious grandchildren after their parents die in an accident by car. What begins as a three-day journey to find foster care turns into weeks of chaos in farm life – and the realization that he doesn’t need to find them a home, they’ve found one for him.

It looks like it will be a sweet, uplifting film and a perfect project for Stiller and Green to collaborate on. I have no doubt they will make a fantastic film.

The film’s screenplay comes from Leland Douglas (Call of the Wild) and was developed by Rough House. Stiller is also the film’s producer.
