“All Of Us Strangers” and “Oppenheimer” lead the nominations for the London Critics’ Circle Awards

The drama by Andrew Haigh We are all strangers received nine nominations for the London Critics’ Circle Awards, ahead of Christopher Nolan Oppenheimerwho scored seven points.

In addition to the French courtroom drama, all films stand a chance to win the film of the year title from critics Anatomy of a fallAlexander Paynes The survivorsTodd Haynes’s May December and Martin Scorsese Flower Moon Killer.

Andrew Scott, Paul Giamatti and Cillian Murphy as well as leading actresses Lily Gladstone, Sandra Hülser, Greta Lee and Emma Stone are represented in the acting categories.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on February 4, with actress, writer and comedian Anna Leong Brophy returning as host. Jeffrey Wright receives the London critics’ highest honour: the Dilys Powell Award for excellence in film. Wright was also nominated for lead actor this year American fiction.

The Critics’ Circle is the oldest critics’ society in the UK and the film awards are voted for by 210 members.

“As our members see almost every film released in the UK each year, our nominations look unlike any other awards show,” said Rich Cline, chairman of the Critics’ Circle film division. “The Critics’ Circle Film Awards are an integral part of the annual film awards conversation and have consistently highlighted cinematic achievements overlooked by other groups.”
