Quentin Tarantino gave up directing Star Trek because he didn’t want it to be his last

Quentin Tarantino almost directed a Bloodier Star Trek film but decided not to make it because he didn’t want it to be his last film.

Now writer Mark L. Smith talks about Tarantino’s hesitation about directing the fourth installment in the film series that began with JJ Abrams’ 2019 reboot.

“Quentin and I went back and forth, he wanted to do a few things with it, and then he started thinking about the number, his kind of unofficial number of films,” Smith said.
