A new photo has been released for Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empireand presents Bill Murray returns to the role of Dr. Peter Venkman and sees him return to the Ghostbusters’ headquarters, the iconic firehouse. In the photos we see him talking Paul RuddGary Grooberson in front of the Phantom Containment Unit.
Murray will return to his side Dan AckroydAND Ernie Hudson, all back in the barracks. The director of the film, Gil Kenanhe said in an interview with Empire:
“I remember there was a moment halfway through the first morning of directing one of the most important scenes where I looked at the monitor and caught myself with the biggest smile ever. Finally, I realized that I was calling “Action!” and “Cut!” about some of my favorite characters in movies, working on a large cinematic scale on something I really cared about. I try to hold on to that feeling. I still have it now, I’m finishing the film.”
In the story, New York City finds itself frozen by an ancient artifact that unleashes an evil force! Plus, the original Ghostbusters return! Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, AND Ernie Hudson we are all back for the new adventure! The synopsis reads:
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all began, the iconic New York firehouse, to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who have developed a top-secret research laboratory to bring ghost eradication to a higher level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, the Old and Old Ghostbusters must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife director and co-writer Jason Reitmann he is the screenwriter and executive producer of the new film. The film is also the protagonist Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjianicomic James AcasterAND Emily Alyn Lind they joined the cast! They join returning cast members Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn WolfhardAND McKenna Grace.
The film is scheduled for release on March 29, 2024.
