James Gunn recently revealed all the superhero characters he will play Superman: Legacy they will be more than just cameo roles. It will be a real cast of characters like Christopher Nolan Oppenheimer. The director has now shared his thoughts on cameos in superhero films and how most of them are pointless and pointless. Gunn shared on Discussions:
“I call it ‘Cameo Porn’ and it’s been one of the worst elements of recent superhero movies. If a character is in the movie, they have to have a reason to be there story-wise.”
“I’m not interested in actual cameos, whether it’s a glimpse or a moment, an Easter egg. What bothers me is when they alter an elegant story by inserting fitting characters: they’re not there because the story requires it, but for some other reason.”
The director refers to Marvel when it comes to including cameos. So, don’t expect Gunn to throw in cameos just for the sake of it. When previously talking about its large cast Superman: LegacyHe said:
“What single-star movie doesn’t have more than ten speaking roles? There will be more. The point is, it’s NOT a big movie, I mean, not in terms of cast. It’s common for single-star movies to have other characters.” – much more unusual that they don’t.”
Superman: Legacy currently stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Mercede as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific, Skyler Gisondo like Jimmy Olsen, and María Gabriela de Faría in the role of Angela Spica, aka The Engineer. Sara SampaioPortuguese Victoria’s Secret model has also been cast as Eve Teschmacher, with more casting announcements to come.
Superman: Legacy will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
Superman: Legacy will launch the cinematic portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
