Director James Cameron has reached out to People Magazine to give fans an update on its upcoming sequel, Avatara3. The director explained that “three is on track” for its December 19, 2025 release.
“We did the capture of Three and the live-action photography of Three as a mixed production with [Avatar: The Way of Water]and we were also part of the fourth film because all of our young characters will make a big leap in the fourth film,” explains Cameron.
The Oscar winner Titanic the director’s notes of the fourth chapter, whose release is scheduled for 2029, will see a time leap in the story:
“We see them and then we go away for six years and then we come back. And then the part we come back to is the part we haven’t shot yet. So we’ll start with that after Three comes out.”
As for what fans can expect from the third film, Cameron confirms it Kate Winslet he will return to reprise his role as Ronald. He also adds that Winslet “went to school” learning from “the practice of a husband and wife shaman” to master the techniques she will employ in the near future. Avatars.
“When you see it [Winslet] doing that cleansing ritual to try to revive Kitty in the movie, and some of the things she does in the third movie, are based on the actual practice.
