Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman star in trailer for student/teacher thriller MILLER’S GIRL

A new trailer for the thriller has been released Miller’s girlfriendwhich follows the budding inappropriate relationship between a teacher, played by Martin Freemann (Sherlock, Fargo), and student, played by Wednesday star Jenna Ortega. They are joined in the cast by Dagmara Domińczyk, Bashir Salahuddin, Gideon AdlonAND Christina Adams. The film is written and directed by Jade Halley Bartlett in his directorial debut, and was produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Josh Fagen, AND Mary-Margaret Kunze.

The film’s synopsis reads:

A talented young writer (Ortega) embarks on a creative odyssey when her professor (Freeman) assigns her a project that draws them both into an increasingly complex web. As lines blur and their lives become intertwined, professor and protégé must confront their darkest selves as they strive to preserve their individual sense of purpose and the things they hold dear.

It feels like a movie we’ve seen before. But maybe it will put a new spin on an old story. The talent is there to make it intriguing enough. Miller’s girlfriend will premiere at the 2024 Palm Springs Film Festival next month, and you’ll be able to see it in select US theaters when it releases on January 26, 2024.
