Zack Snyder she has some big plans for him Rebel moon science fiction epic and it all starts with the two films Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire AND Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver. The first film will define the story and the characters, but when the second film arrives it will become truly epic.
During a recent interview with the actor Ed Skreinwho plays the evil Admiral Noble, explains that Snyder wanted the sequel to feel like Christopher Nolan’S Dunkirk and made fun of him The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King vibrations. The actor joked:
“I remember Zack said with the second movie that he wanted it to feel like Dunkirk. So it’s like there’s a space at the beginning, and then it goes out. And it’s really, really exploding. And, you know, Return of the King, the Lord of the Rings, it’s like, ‘Okay, we know where they’re going.’ It’s like, ‘Okay, now let’s sit down, eat a lot of popcorn and watch kickoff.'”
Now, even if the two films tell a single story, they will still be very different films. Speaking about this, Skrein said:
“You might think, ‘Oh, if it were a long movie, the tones would be pretty similar, they would just continue.’ But the second film has a very different atmosphere, because if the first one said: “Here are all the characters, let’s go look for them, let’s reunite them and then go back to Veldt”, the second one is really like a different war film.”
In the story, a ragtag group of rebels rises up to fight against a giant, evil empire. It is set in a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical regent Balisarius. They send a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them make a stand against the Tyrant.
This is a two-part film and each part will have an R-rated edition for fans to watch as well. Movie stars Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein, Bae Doona, Djimon Hounsou. Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Anthony Hopkins, AND Alfonso Herrera.
Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire will arrive on Netflix on December 22 after a limited theatrical release. Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver will arrive in April 2024.
