Top Gun: nonconformist actor Glen Powell is set to star in an upcoming romantic comedy Sydney Sweeney titled Anyone but you. The film feels like your typical cheesy romantic comedy, and Powell recently talked about the film and hilariously compared it to Leonardo Dicapriothe historical drama of survival, The avenger. His reasoning is absolutely ridiculous, but it’s funny. Powell explained:
«The way Leo and those endure difficulties and falls. It’s like, will they do it? Are they just scratching each other? My favorite part of romantic comedy is the sense of play.”
Sweeney then chimed in and joked about it The avenger it was “the greatest love story I’ve ever seen”. Powell then went on to clarify why he compares his relationship with Sweeney to Anyone but you to DiCaprio and Orso, saying:
“[You’re] I wait for someone to get bullied, and I feel like you and I have the same chemistry that Leo and that bear have in that movie.
Sweeney then asked who the bear was in their relationship and Powell replied, “You know who the bear is.”
In Anyone but youthe two main characters played by Powell and Sweeney are old college enemies and end up faking their relationship after being invited to a wedding that both of their exes will be attending
The film is described as a “sharp comedy” and the synopsis reads: “Bea (Sweeney) and Ben (Powell) seem like the perfect couple, but after an extraordinary first date something happens that turns their fiery attraction to ice, until they find each other again unexpectedly united at a wedding in Australia. So they do what two mature adults would do: they pretend to be a couple.
Anyone but you is the latest R-rated comedy to hit theaters on December 22, 2023.
