That first trailer of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga got a lot of fans excited about what happened George Miller-direct movie is about to deliver! There’s no doubt that this movie will be a badass cinematic experience and I can’t wait to see it!
Miller recently spoke about the film during a panel at CCXP23 this past weekend and confirmed that the film’s timeline is set “15 years directly before Mad Max: Fury Road.” He also seemed to suggest that perhaps Max Rockatansky might show up at some point.
“This story takes place 15 years before Mad Max: Fury Road, and fits directly into it. Max is lurking somewhere in this story, but it’s really the story of Furiosa and how she became. Much of the film It will be familiar, and many things are new, that we have never seen before.”
With Max lurking in the story, there’s a chance we might see him. If we see him, it will be interesting to see who Miller brings in to play him. The character was previously played by Mel Gibson and Tom Hardy, but I doubt we’ll see either of them. I mean, Max’s cameo hasn’t been confirmed, we might not see him at all, Miller might have just wanted to let fans know that he’s still in this world as this story unfolds.
Chris Hemsworthwho plays the villain Dementus, also shared some new details with fans and talked about what it was like making the film with Miller:
“When you make an action movie, a lot of the time you try different things and experiment and try to make the sequence as impressive and as big as possible. And you have backups and other options,” And that can be exhausting. What was refreshing about working with George is that every frame was thought of. Every single frame was necessary; it was at the service of the whole. It was part of a bigger plan and message, so there was no waste.
“Everything you see is essential, means something, and supports the characters’ journey, the narrative, the overall arc of the film, and it was exhausting in the best way. All of us showed up and were willing to put in the effort and throw ourselves on the line to serve this journey, this film and this franchise that has been around for forty years now.”
In the film, “As the world fell apart, young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a large horde of bikers led by Warlord Dementus. Traveling through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe As the two Tyrants battle for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she marshals the means to find her way home.
The rest of the cast includes Anya Taylor-Gioia, Tom Burke, Angus Sampson, Nathan Jones, Daniel Webber, Lachy HulmeAND Quaden Bayles.
Furisona: a Mad Max saga will be released in theaters on May 24, 2024.
